I’ve worked with Hang Ten since the early 1990’s when I lived back in San Diego, California. Over the years the brand has taken some unfortunate financial hits but I’m still quite proud of the work we did together. Working closely with the inhouse marketing team I helped spearhead their famous “Dukes of Hazzard” campaign which celebrated Hang Ten’s Gold Label shirts, shorts and jeans. These ads were featured in Spin Magazine, Fader, Rolling Stone, Raygun and a whole host of other magazines. In addition to the print campaign, a Gold Label interactive Flash site was also created complete with a modified #10 General Lee ready to jump off your screen. Other projects included direct mail, instore banner advertising as well as a “Hang Ten Rocks!” print campaign which I concepted, designed and art directed.
